KATHMANDU, August 2: Nepal recorded 814 new cases of COVID-19 along with 299 recoveries and one death from the virus on Monday, according to the latest information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 5,415 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 509 PCR and 305 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

There are currently 4,987 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 4,785 are in self-isolation, 159 in institutional isolation, 38 in ICUs and five on ventilators. So far, 11,968 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 313 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Among them, 253 were reported in Kathmandu, 36 in Lalitpur and 24 in Bhaktapur districts. The total vaccine administered has reached 49,436,626 in the country.
