KATHMANDU, March 11: Nepal recorded 77 new cases of COVID-19 along with 189 recoveries and one death from the deadly virus on Friday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 7,981 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 62 PCR and 15 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,249 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,108 are in self-isolation, 104 in institutional isolation, 32 in ICUs and five on ventilators. Similarly, 106 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,950 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 21 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 15 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, two in Bhaktapur, and four in Lalitpur districts.
