KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Nepal recorded 189 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with 250 recoveries and two deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 7,997 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 158 PCR and 31 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,619 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,256 are in home isolation, 233 in institutional isolation, 106 in ICUs, and 24 on ventilators. Similarly, 98 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,572 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 110 cases of the virus on Saturday. Of them, 75 were recorded in Kathmandu, nine in Bhaktapur, and 26 in Lalitpur districts.
