KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Nepal recorded 4,904 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with 5,924 recoveries and six deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 14,562 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 3,318 PCR and 1,586 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 87,662 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 85,636 are in self-isolation, 1,693 in institutional isolation, 286 in ICUs, and 47 on ventilators. Similarly, 139 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,703 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 1,820 cases of the virus on Saturday. Of them, 1,404 were recorded in Kathmandu, 111 in Bhaktapur, and 305 in Lalitpur districts.
