KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Nepal recorded 570 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 1,993 recoveries and six deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 9,789 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 364 PCR and 206 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 16,793 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 15,947 are in self-isolation, 669 in institutional isolation, 151 in ICUs, and 26 on ventilators. Similarly, 109 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,911 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 143 cases of the virus on Thursday. Of them, 116 were recorded in Kathmandu, nine in Bhaktapur, and 18 in Lalitpur districts.
