Nepal records 1,282 new cases,  1,262 recoveries and seven deaths on Monday

KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Nepal has recorded 1,282 new cases of COVID-19 along with 1,262 recoveries and seven deaths on Monday. 

Of the total 15,488 tests conducted on Monday, 975 PCR and 307 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus, according to the latest information from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

There are currently 19,358 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 17,535 are in home isolation, 1,313 in institutional isolation, 385 in ICUs and 125 on ventilators. Similarly, 256 are currently in quarantine.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 394 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 285 were recorded in Kathmandu, 43 in Bhaktapur and 66 in Lalitpur districts.

Health officials said the number of new cases has come down in Nepal with the increased rate of COVID-19 vaccination. A total of 312,874 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 across the country on Monday alone.
