KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Nepal recorded 1,146 new COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths due to the virus on Friday, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 10,916 samples were tested of which 8,549 samples were tested through the RT-PCR method and 2,367 samples through the antigen method.

The health ministry, updating the statistics of COVID-19 cases, said that the number of COVID-19 cases has increased. There are 27,958 active cases in the country as of Friday.
Meanwhile, 1,660 people recovered from COVID-19 and were discharged from various hospitals across the country.
Currently, 458 people are being treated at intensive care units (ICU) and 145 are on ventilators. Of the active cases, 26,296 have isolated themselves at their homes after testing positive for COVID-19 while 1,662 people are staying isolated at various health institutions as of Friday, according to the data provided by MoHP. Similarly, a total of 252 people are in quarantine.
