KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Nepal Police Headquarters (HQ), Naxal has reshuffled three Metropolitan Police Circles in the Kathmandu Valley after DSP Shyam Kumar Rai, in-charge of Bouddha, was caught with Rs 140,000 in bribe.
According to SSP Shailesh Thapa, spokesperson of the Nepal Police, DSP Narendra Chand, chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Lalitpur has been transferred to Bouddha while DSP Gautam has been transferred to Satdobato Circle. Similarly, DSP Kumar Bikram has been transferred to Thankot Circle.
DSP Rai arrested with Rs 140,000 bribe money
IGP Sarbendra Khanal reshuffled the chiefs in response to Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s dissatisfaction over the demeanor of police officers in the Kathmandu Valley after DSP Rai was caught receiving bribe.
It is learnt that Police HQ is making preparations to reshuffle in other circles, too.
