Nepal-led faction of UML knocks at Parliament Secretariat door urging it not to take action against them

KATHMANDU, August 18: Fourteen UML lawmakers including senior leader Madhan Kumar Nepal have filed an application at the Parliament Secretariat not to take action against them.

KATHMANDU, August 18: Fourteen UML lawmakers including senior leader Madhan Kumar Nepal have filed an application at the Parliament Secretariat not to take action against them.


The lawmakers have maintained that the decision of CPN-UML to sack them is against the law.

The main opposition CPN-UML on Tuesday took action against 14 of its lawmakers, including Madhav Kumar Nepal and dismissed them from their posts as the government introduced a ‘party-split’ ordinance. 


Those dismissed from the post of a lawmaker include Madhav Kumar Nepal, Ram Kumari Jhakri, Metmani Chaudhary, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, Mukunda Neupane, Laxmi Kumari Chaudhary, Kalyani Khadka, Nira Devi Jairu, Pushpa Kumari Karna, Sarala Yadav, Bhawani Khapung, Birodh Khatiwada, Kalila Khatun and Krishna Lal Maharjan.
