KATHMANDU, May 4: Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN) is set to organize the Nepal Ice AAN Futsal Tournament from Monday.
AAN’s President Rabindra Kumar Rijal informed that a total of 32 teams will take part in the tournament including AAN, media and corporate houses. The tournament will be played at the Field Futsal in Sanepa and will conclude on May 12.
“This tournament is being organized to increase the cooperation and brotherhood between the AAN, media and corporate houses,’’ Rijal said. “ We are already encouraged with the participation of good teams in the first edition. We will take the tournament forward in the recent times.’’
The teams are divided into eight groups in the tournament which will be played in league format. The top two teams from each group will enter the last 16, informed the organizers.
DL Films, Gorkhapatra, Bichitra Private Limited and Nepal Television are in Group A, Annapurna Post, ABC Television, Key Advertising Service and Image Channel are pitted in Group B. Likewise, Janata Television, News 24, Future Hub and Media Basket are in Group C, while Naya Patrika, Net TV, Marsh and QFX are place in Group D.
Group E includes Karobar Daily, Welcome Advertising, Avenues TV and ADFactor Nepal, while Himalaya TV, Prisma, Sagarmatha Television and Abhiyan are in Group F. Also, Group G has Kantipur Television, Prismark, Ad Release and Nepal Mediciti Hospital, while Nepal Republic Media, Media Hub, Bhog and ANS are pitted in Group H.
The winner of the tournament will take home Rs 75,000, while the runner-up will be rewarded with Rs 50,000. The third-placed teams will receive Rs 30,000.
On the same occasion, the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) signed a one year extension deal with AAN. AAN’s President Rijal and NSJF’s President Mahesh Acharya signed on the agreement deal.
