Govt’s expenditure reaches Rs 909.39 billion in nine months of current FY 2023/24

KATHMANDU, May 12: The government’s total expenditure stood at Rs 909.39 billion during the nine months of 2023/24.


According to the Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO)’s report, this marks a slight decrease of 3.6 percent compared to the growth of 18.7 percent observed in the previous fiscal year.

Out of the total expenditure, recurrent expenditure amounts to Rs 644.03 billion, capital expenditure amounts to Rs 97.38 billion and financial management expenditure amounts to Rs 167.99 billion.


During this period, the total revenue mobilization of the government, including the amount to be transferred to provincial and local governments, amounted to Rs 748.04 billion – a growth of 9.4 percent against a decrease of 13.4 percent in the same period of the last fiscal year.


Out of this revenue, tax revenue stood at Rs 671.12 billion and non-tax revenue amounted to Rs 76.93 billion.
