Nepal advises Regmi to quit from post of CJ

BIRATNAGAR, March 28: Senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has advised head of Interim Ministerial Council Khil Raj Regmi to resign from the post of Chief Justice (CJ) on Thursday.



Speaking to reporters here at Biratnagar Airport this morning, Nepal added that if Regmi tenders his resignation as head of judiciary, it would be easy to convince the disgruntled political parties to reconsider their bid to boycott the upcoming elections.[break]



“Dissatisfied political parties including CPN-Maoist, Madhesi Peoples’ Rights Forum Nepal among others will take part in next elections if Regmi tenders resignation from the post of CJ,” said, Nepal.



Saying that Regmi’s resignation will also create conducive political environment in the country, Nepal further urged him to quit the  post of CJ at the earliest.
