KATHMANDU, Nov 14: As many as 1,946 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were detected in Nepal in the past 24 hours.
Of the 8,753 PCR tests carried out at 70 different labs across the country in the past one day, 1,130 males and 816 females tested positive for the virus.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 infections has advanced to 208,299 since the country confirmed the first case on January 23 earlier this year. Of the total cases, 81.9 percent patients --- 170,632—have so far recovered from the disease, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
Similarly, COVID-19 death tally has jumped to 1,215 including 13 more deaths reported in the last one day.
There are currentlyl 36,452 active cases of the disease across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley witnessed 835 cases –456 males and 379 females--- on Saturday.
