Nepal: 421 new cases, 637 recoveries, eight deaths and 5,800 PCR tests in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) recorded 421 new cases of COVID-19 through 5,800 polymerase chain reaction tests in the past 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) recorded 421 new cases of COVID-19 through 5,800 polymerase chain reaction tests in the past 24 hours.


The health ministry also confirmed eight more cases of fatality related to COVID-19 on Sunday.

Similarly, as many as 637 people who had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. So far, 254,494 people have recovered from the disease.


Likewise, there are 5,487 active cases of COVID-19 across the country as of Sunday afternoon as the country’s COVID-19 case tally stands at 261,859.


According to the latest data from the health ministry, 35 COVID-19 patients are currently on ventilators and 199 in intensive care units.
