KATHMANDU, May 6: A meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party's Central Secretariat is taking place on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 3 pm at the Prime Minister's Residence in Baluwatar.

"It will set the agenda for the party's Standing Committee meeting to be held on Friday," NCP general secretary Bishnu Poudel said. The Standing Committee meeting is expected to resolve intra-party disputes being surfaced in the recent months.

Earlier on May 2, the meeting of the NCP Secretariat decided to elect the party's Vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam to the House of Representatives “at an appropriate time”.

The meeting had decided to hold the party's Standing Committee meeting on May 7 as demanded by a majority of the Standing Committee members of the party.
