KATHMANDU, June 13: NCP leader Yogesh Bhattaray has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to seek market in China for Nepali cardamom during his upcoming China visit.
Speaking at a federal parliament meeting on Wednesday, Bhattarai said, “Nepal has a huge trade deficit in the international trade of merchandized goods. If we export the cardamom to the northern neighbor, it will help reduce the international trade deficit.”
Over 100,000 farmers involved in cardamom farming have been export cardamom worth over Rs 10 billion.
Meanwhile, Bhattarai demanded with the government to declare Taplejung as the super zone for cardamom farming.
