KATHMANDU, Aril 14: Ncell has launched a new offer, announcing discounted prices on use of 'loose data', or data used by subscribers without one of Ncell's Internet packages.

Under the new offer, Ncell subscribers using data without any pack will get daily discounts on data prices and be able to surf the Internet at as low as Rs 1 per MB.

Ncell had recently revised its 'pay as you go' rates for prepaid subscribers who use data without any pack by 50 percent to Rs 3 per MB, excluding taxes.

Now on the occasion of New Year 2072 Bikram Sambat, the company has offered further discounts over this lowered tariff, it said in a statement Monday.

Subscribers do not need to activate the new offer which will be implemented on a daily cycle, Ncell says.

Under this, only the first 1 MB of data will be priced at Rs 3 per MB. As the subscriber continues to use data, the price for 2nd 1 MB will go down to Rs 2 per MB, and from the 3rd 1 MB onwards, the price of data will remain flat at Rs 1 per MB, Ncell says. The rates of data mentioned herein are exclusive of taxes.

As the offer follows a daily cycle, the usage bracket will take into account the volume of data that customers use over a span of 24 hours.

After 24 hours, a fresh cycle of calculation starts. The new offer comes into effect on April 14 and will remain in place until May 14.

"The new offer has been launched as a part of Ncell's continuous effort and commitment to provide quality data services at affordable rates. And we are happy to launch it on the occasion of the New Year 2072," Milan Sharma, corporate communication expert at Ncell, was quoted as saying in the statement.

Ncell will continue to offer various data packs, subscribing to which, clients can use data at as low as 30 paisa per MB.

"With the new offer, we believe it will deliver additional benefit to our customers and also contribute to increase access to the Internet," Sharma added.
