Talking briefly to media persons at a tea party, Deuba said he would help President Sushil Koirala run the party smoothly.[break]
“Nepali Congress will remain united,” he said. Despite repeated requests from Journalists, Deuba, however, declined to comment on the party´s future course of action vis-à-vis current political deadlock.
Deuba was defeated by Koirala in the race for the party president in the recently held 12th general convention. Likewise, Prakash Man Singh from Koirala´s panel had defeated his running mate Bimalendra Nidhi.
Of the total 64 members elected directly by general convention representatives, Koirala panel secured 35 CWC berths including the party president and general-secretary. Likewise, the Sher Bahadur Deuba panel bagged 29 CWC berths including the party treasurer.

Most of the newly elected CWC members, including General Secretary Prakash Man Singh had reached Deuba´s residence at Budhanilakantha to attend the tea party.
Koirala, however, failed to turn up as the doctors have advised him rest after he was diagnosed with pneumonia and chest infection over a week ago.
