KATHMANDU, March 22: A senior leader of the Nepali Congress said the party would join the government if it is led by the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), according to Rajdhani daily.
"The party will not join a Maoist-led government," said NC General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi, speaking at a program in the capital, Saturday. A national government should be formed under the UML, he suggested.

"Since the Maoist-led government has not shown any inclination to draft the new constitution, Nepali Congress also should join the government to ensure drafting of the constitution on time," Nidhi said.
The NC leader said the drafting of the new constitution would not be possible if the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) continues to lead the government.
