POKHARA, Oct 25: Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to hold the party´s Central Working Committee (CWC) meetings in different districts outside Kathmandu in future, ending the trend of holding such meetings only in the capital.

The party has taken this decision hoping that such meetings would help to identify problems at the local level, mobilize local leaders and cadres and also promote domestic tourism. [break]

NC President Sushil Koirala proposed a few days ago to hold the party´s CWC meetings in the districts outside Kathmandu which was supported by most in the CWC. The party had been holding its CWC meeting only in the capital up till now.

NC has decided to hold its first CWC meeting out of the capital in Lumle of Kaski district.

“It is very encouraging that the party leaders have supported my proposal of organizing CWC meetings outside the capital,” Koirala said in Lumle on Monday.

NC President has already directed president of Kaski district chapter Yagya Bahadur Thapa to prepare for the meeting. However, NC is yet to set the date for the first CWC meeting out of the capital.

“We will start to work from today to make sure that the meeting is successful,” Thapa told Republica after receiving the instruction from the party president. “The meeting will be held at Lumle Agriculture Research Center based at Lumle.”
