KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the party should move ahead using new methods through its upcoming 14th General Convention.

Speaking at a program organized to congratulate and felicitate the newly-elected members of the Nagarjun Municipal Working Committee on Wednesday, Singh said that the party should move ahead using new methods in this new era. “Programs should be held from the local level to move the party forward in an institutional manner,” he said.

Stating that the NC should introduce programs to strengthen the financial condition of the people after the party’s 14th General Convention, he said that he should be given a chance to lead the NC as he has been involved in politics since his days as a student. Singh said that he has announced his candidacy for the post of NC president to institutionalize the party and to preserve democracy.

“Just because my father Ganesh Man Singh quit politics, it doesn't mean his son should too,” Singh said. Furthermore, he urged everyone to take politics as a means of service and said that it was Kathmandu's turn to lead the NC.
