The first point is about accomplishing the remaining tasks of constitution writing and the peace process that includes resolution of the issue of Maoist combatants. The second point is on the extension of the CA term and the third states that the prime minister would be ready to immediately step down to pave the way for the formation of a national consensus government. NC leaders argued that since the second and third points have already been implemented, it was the time to implement the first point.
"After the prime minister´s resignation, now it is the turn to resolve the issues of the peace process," NC parliamentary party (PP) leader Ram Chandra Poudel told reporters after the meeting held with Maoists in Singha Durbar.
Maoist deputy PP leader Narayankaji Shrestha said they focused mainly on the formation of national unity government which he said is essential to take the peace process to a logical end.
Leaders said they have agreed to intensify talks on the formation of national consensus government.
