BHAKTAPUR, Oct. 5: Nepali Congress (NC) central committee member Shankar Bhandari has said that the broader leftist alliance was unusual and unnatural.
At a greetings exchange programme and tea reception organized by the NC in Surya Binayak on Thursday on the occasion of festivals, he claimed that there was no basis for leftist unity.
"The Maoist party is divided in itself. There is no basis for communists' unification. This alliance forged in the tune of foreigners is unusual and unnatural," the NC leader claimed.
He also said that the NC was serious as the alliance of the left parties would affect the democratic parties in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies. RSS
