NC lawmaker KC passes away

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Surya Bahadur KC has passed away. He was 65.

According to family sources, lawmaker KC, who is also an invited member of the party's Central Working Committee (CWC) passed away at his own residence in Pokhara. KC is a member of the House of Representatives (HoR) of the federal parliament.

KC had been suffering from diabetes, kidney-related ailment, and blood pressure for the past several years. Family sources said he passed away at around 10:30 pm on Monday after he suddenly experienced low blood pressure.

KC is one of the highly successful entrepreneurs in the Kaski district. Known for his philanthropic activities, late KC started his political career from Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). He had quit RPP before the parliamentary election held in 2017 to join the NC.

Preparations are underway to perform his last rites on Tuesday, family sources said. A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday is likely to be put off after KC’s sudden demise.
