As children, most of us couldn’t wait to grow up. Adults around us got to go to bed late at night, they could eat whatever they wanted and they could go places without anybody’s help or permission. But now that we are adults ourselves, we finally see what an illusion that was and many of us long to go back to our childhood when things were way simpler and all you had to do was sleep, play, and eat. We asked a few people what they missed the most about their childhood. Here’s what they had to say.
Two incidents of the past week in Nepal are deeply worrying for the prospects of tourism at a time when the country is celebrating Visit Nepal 2020 during which Nepal aims to bring in as many as two million tourists. Both incidents are related to death of tourists. On Friday, massive avalanche hit the Deurali area of Annapurna Rural Municipality-11 in Kaski leaving four South Korean nationals and three Nepalis missing.

POKHARA, Dec 2: At least five laborers died when a mound of soil caved in at Pokhara Metropolitan City-20 on Sunday. The laborers were constructing a retaining wall when the mound of soil caved in, according to the District Police Office, Kaski.
POKHARA, June 6: Tourists visiting Machhapuchchhre Community Organic Home Stay in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality in Kaski district are in for a treat. They get to consume organic vegetables grown in backyard of the homestay and meat from animals grown by the local people. There is no dearth of buyers for vegetables and meat, which were initially produced for visitors of the homestay, produced by the locals.
“When I was a child, I used to go to school, stroll around the forest and look after cattle among many other works. I dropped out in grade eight as every other friend was doing so. At that time, whenever I visited the city, I would not be able to stay there for more than 12 days because I didn’t like the chaotic city. City suffocates me.”
KASKI, Dec 9: Bamdi is a small village in Chapakot, Kaski, comprising a large population of the Janajaatis (Ethnic Groups). Bamdi village is seven Kilometers away from the lakeside of Pokhara and members of the community are planning to initiate homestay facilities in 20 houses of the village. The village is in ward no. 23 of the Pokhara Metropolitan City. With an aim to invite domestic and international tourists, locals of the village are working to build the infrastructures required for the homestay with the slogan ‘homestay is the key factor to the promotion of rural tourism’.
