KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujata Koirala has said that the 14th General Convention of the party has paved the way for women to lead the party in the near future.
In a statement issued here today, Koirala, who was recently defeated in the election for the post of the party’s Vice President, said that hope and enthusiasm were seen on the faces of the women delegates attending the party's general convention from every corner of the country. “The issue I have raised for the equal participation of women in the Congress party and in every body of the state has found a place in both national and international arena,” the statement said.

Similarly, stating that she has always been inspired by the ideals of consensus, cooperation and unity of Girija Prasad Koirala, she said that there is a need for consensus, cooperation and unity in the party and the country.
Likewise, leader Koirala also congratulated Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhan Raj Gurung who have won the Vice President post of the party and wished them a successful tenure.
