The taskforce members include General Secretary Krishna Sitaula, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Narahari Acharya from the establishment faction, and Gopalman Singh Shrestha, Khum Bahadur Khadka and Purna Bahadur Khadka from the Deuba faction.[break]
"It is an informal team that will suggest ways that would be acceptable to all and be in the best interest of the party," said NC leader Purna Bahadur Khadka on the terms and reference of the taskforce.
The party took the move in view of the widening rift between the party establishment and the Deuba faction over the party´s decision to dissolve four sister organizations. Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Mahila Sangh, Prajatantra Senani Sangh and Adibasi Janajati Sangh were dissolved by a majority vote at the party´s central committee meeting boycotted by the Deuba faction.
Meanwhile, growing cases of sickness have been reported among the supporters of the dissolved sister organizations who have been staging a fast-unto-death at the party headquarters, Sanepa against the dissolution.
When asked how long the taskforce would take to come up with its suggestion, leader Purna Bahadur Khadka said, "We have been discussing the issue and no timeframe has been set."
