"Despite shortcomings and limited resources the cricket team has made the entire nation proud," said Koirala. "I want to thank coach Pubudu Dassanayake, manager and the entire team for the achievement."
"Nepali cricket has gained big success despite short history. We believe Nepali cricket could hoist the national flag in world cricket as well," said Koirala. He also urged the state to increase facilities for players.
Skipper Khadka said the felicitation would motivate players to perform better in future.
Meanwhile, Madan Bhandari Sports Foundation also felicitated the cricket team amidst separate function in the capital on Thursday. CPN-UML leader KP Oli and vice president Bidhya Bhandari gave away letter of appreciation to the players.
