KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has expressed concern over the proposed 'bill to amend and integrate laws relating to the constitution and operation of Nepal special service'.
The bill which was tabled by the government is now under the discussion at the Federal Parliament. In a press statement, the NC Parliamentary Office stated that the provisions in the bill are aimed at squeezing people's fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution.
"The bill is capable of leaking every information related to the citizen, violating citizen's privacy and freedom. Any move to formulate the act in contravention to the constitution is unacceptable for the party," party chief whip Balkrishna Khand stated.
The party has demanded the government to immediately withdraw the document. The NC also urged the government not to come up with any bill going against the constitution in the future.
