KATHMANDU, Dec 8: A meeting of the leaders close to Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba kicked off today.
The meeting called by party president Deuba at his personal residence in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu is discussing the NC's upcoming 14th General Convention.

The meeting is also deliberating on the candidacy of the office-bearers from the Deuba faction to vie in the upcoming general convention, shared NC central member NP Saud.
Deuba has been preparing to contest for the post of party president yet again.
The statute of the party mandates that one President, two Vice-presidents, two General-secretaries and eight Joint General-secretaries would be elected through the general convention and one treasurer would be picked by the newly-elected central members.
The 14th general convention is going to take place on December 10-12 in Kathmandu.
