KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The mobile camps operating in Malta to provide consular services including passport renewal have been suspended.


The Embassy of Nepal in Spain has announced that the mobile camps in Malta have been suspended due to technical issues with the passport system. The camp was scheduled to be held in Birkirkara, Malta, from November 30 to December 4.

Previously, a joint team from the Department of Passports in Kathmandu and the Nepali Embassy in Spain was scheduled to visit Malta to provide consular services, including passport renewals and document authentication.


Due to technical issues, the passport-related services have been disrupted, and as a result, the mobile camps service scheduled to be conducted in Malta has been postponed, said Yagya Raj Poudyal, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Nepali Embassy in Spain.


He mentioned that as soon as the issue with the passport system is resolved, the mobile camps service will be conducted.
