KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Police have arrested a person who allegedly criticized a Nepal Communist Party(NCP) leader close to Prime Minister KP Oli.
Police arrested Nepali Congress (NC) Active Member Dilli Chand of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-18 on the charge of criticising NCP leader Mahesh Basnet in his facebook posts. The Cyber Cell of Nepal Police in coordination with the District Police Office, Banke, had arrested Chanda, according to a press statement issued by NC, Banke District Chapter, on Thursday.

Chand had made a few posts in his facebook criticizing the involvement of Basnet, former police chief Sarbendra Khanal and Kisan Singh and others in the kidnapping of Samajbadi Party lawmaker Dr Surendra Yadav to Kathmandu from Mahottari district during the lockdown period.
The NC, Banke District Chapter, said police arrested Chand when he was at work. Issuing a press statement on Thursday, the NC District Chapter has also asked the police authorities to release him without further delay.
