NC decides to hold 14th general convention from November 25 to 29

KATHMANDU, August 14: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to organize its 14th general convention from November 25 to 29.


A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the party held at the private residence of President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on Saturday made a decision to this effect, bringing amendments in the calendar of events announced earlier. The decision to hold the 14th general convention in November end comes after it failed to hold the general convention on the scheduled date due to dispute over active membership distribution.

Earlier, the NC had decided to hold the 14th general convention of the party from September 1 to 4 in Kathmandu.


As per the new calendar of events, the NC plans to finalize list of the party's active membership on August 18, organize ward level convention across the country on September 3, village or municipality level convention on September 12 and Province (a/b) level convention on September 17.


Similarly, the party has decided to hold the federal constituency level convention on September 21, district level convention on September 26, province level convention on October 27 and 28. The central level general convention to elect new office bearers will be held from November 25 to 29 in Kathmandu.
