KATHMANDU, July 31: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Chinkaji Shrestha has refuted media reports that said he was dissatisfied with the recent cabinet expansion. Issuing a press statement on Monday, Chief Whip Shrestha said he had never lodged any complaints with anyone including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba about the cabinet expansion.
“As chief whip of the party, I have been working in line with the party's policy and directives and I will continue doing so in the days to come,” he said in the statement. Shrestha said that the party's leadership had put all possible efforts to ensure representation of Madhesi, women and backward communities in the cabinet.
“The party has sent deserving and qualified candidates in the cabinet. I have no objections or reservations about the expansion. I will work as per the party's policy and directives,” he said in the statement. Shrestha's clarifications come in the wake of media reports that said Shrestha was unhappy with the party leadership as he was excluded from the list of the ministerial nominees in the eleventh hour.
