NSC, issuing a press release, claimed that Khanal used fake letterhead of NSC and the signature of NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama to get a visa for South Korea.[break]
According to NSC, Khanal had applied for visa at the South Korean Embassy for NBSA president Asit SJB Rana and himself, to participate in the congress of the Baseball Federation of Asia, presenting fake recommendation letter of NSC.
"We have taken the issue of forgery seriously and NSC will file a legal case against Khanal," reads the press release.
Meanwhile, Rana has denied his involvement in any wrongdoing. "I am not aware about any event in Korea. I have not asked for visa. NBSA emergency meeting decided to sack Khanal submit clarification to NSC," said Rana.
"Khanal was general secretary in the ad-hoc committee but NBSA´s general assembly on August 24 elected him as vice president of the executive committee. It is only now that we have come to know that he had corresponded with South Korean Embassy as general secretary presenting fake documents," said Rana. "This is a serious crime and association will definitely pursue a legal action against him," he added.
Talking to Republica, Khanal said that NSC´s and NBSA´s claims were baseless but refused to comment further. "I´ll give my clarifications soon," Khanal said.
