A delegation led by party president Motilal Dugar handed over the memo to Regmi, calling for action against the murderers of Rangalal Agrawal, President of the Sarlahi District Chamber of Commerce, and for guaranteeing the rule of law. [break]
Ensuring the rule of law has become urgently necessary since criminal activities like extortion, threats, abduction and terrorizing the members of the business community have been increasing day by day amidst flagging economic scenario, the memorandum states, calling on the government to strengthening the law and order situation, establishing peace and the rule of law.
Party president Dugar said that the country´s economy was tottering on all sides and underlined the need for the government, political parties and the general public to be conscious towards stopping organization of general strikes, shutdowns, transport strike, extortion and abductions in the name of politics.
On the occasion, IEC Chairman Regmi said that he was committed to curbing crime and had in fact ordered an investigation into the murder. He pledged to take action against the culprits.
