KATHMANDU, April 19: The government is conducting a national vitamin 'A' campaign for children from today. Dr Bivek Kumar Lal, Director of the Family Welfare Division of the Department of Health Services, informed Republica that the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) is going to conduct a national vitamin ‘A’ campaign to provide vitamin ‘A’ and deworming medicine to children across the country today and tomorrow. He asked the parents to give vitamin 'A' and deworming medicine to the children through the nearby women community health volunteers.

Vitamin 'A' capsules will be given to children aged 6 months to 59 months and deworming medicine to children aged 1 to 5 years. The department has issued a circular to the state and local levels to make the national campaign program a success.
