National pride projects will not face budget crisis: Minister Pun (with photos)

SURKHET, Nov 6: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barsha Man Pun has inspected under-construction tunnel way of Bheri-Babai Diversion Multipurpose Project on Wednesday. 



Minister Pun supervised the 12.2 km tunnel-way starting from Hattikhal of Bheri Ganga municipality to Chiple. He took an hour to take stock of the project traveling on a ‘monorail’.

Construction of the tunnel-way had started in 2017 through a tunnel boring machine and marked its breakthrough in April this year, earlier than the deadline of March 28 next year.  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli turned on the switch on April 16 to mark the final breakthrough of the tunnel.



During the inspection, he instructed the project officials to complete the project on time. On the occasion, he assured that there will not be budget and manpower shortage as Prime Minister himself has been directly supervising al the national pride projects including BBDMP.


“48MW of electricity will be generated at Hattikhal registering two different companies under the ‘People’s Hydropower Project’ program,” he revealed.
