The tournament that was organized as Samsung National Basketball Championship for the past three years will be called Trinity National Basketball Championship this year as NeBa and Trinity International College signed a two-year sponsorship deal Thursday.
Trinity will incur all the expenses of the tournament that is expected to cost around Rs 500,000 this year. Both the men´s and women´s sections will feature 16 teams each with eight district teams from outside the Valley.
The Most Valuable Players (MVP) in each section will receive Rs 25,000, the organizers said at a press meet on Thursday.
GoldenGate and Rato Bangala are the defending champions in men´s and women´s sections respectively.
