National Assembly Vice chairperson Aryal takes oath

KATHMANDU Feb 7: Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-elected Vice Chairperson Urmila Aryal.

Chairman Timilsina administered the oath of office and secrecy to Vice Chairperson Aryal in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari at a ceremony held at the President's Office today.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire. Similarly, heads and representatives of constitutional bodies, leaders of various political parties and media persons also participated in the ceremony.

Vice Chairperson Aryal was elected unopposed as the vice-chairperson of the upper house of parliament only on Monday. She is scheduled to take office today.
