KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said the consolidated results of the National Assembly elections will be announced by 5 PM on Sunday.
Voting for 18 vacant National Assembly seats is underway across all seven provinces, having begun at 9 am. One seat from Koshi Province has already been decided unopposed, with Sunil Thapa elected through a Nepali Congress–CPN-UML collaboration.

“Voting for the National Assembly elections continues until 3 pm. The results will be finalized and made public within the following two hours, by 5 pm,” Bhandari said. He added that polling has remained peaceful in all provinces.
Members of provincial assemblies and chiefs and deputy chiefs of local governments are the voters in the National Assembly elections.
Polling is being conducted at designated centres: the Koshi Province Election Office premises in Biratnagar; the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Culture Centre in Janakpur for Madhesh Province; Bhutan Devi Secondary School in Hetauda for Bagmati Province; the Provincial Election Office in Kaski, Pokhara, for Gandaki Province; Karmachari Milan Kendra in Dang for Lumbini Province; the Provincial Election Office premises in Birendranagar, Surkhet, for Karnali Province; and the Provincial Election Office in Dhangadhi for Sudurpaschim Province.
