MUSTANG, Nov 5: The Nepal Army (NA) has set up a camp at Lomanthang of upper Mustang.
The army camp was established under the leadership of NA’s Major nearby Korala check point – the bordering area of China’s autonomous region Tibet – on Sunday. It is nearly 26-km to the Nepali land from Korala checkpoint.

Equipped with 50 army personnel, the camp will function under the Jomsom-based Bajradutta Battalion. The camp is located at an altitude of 4,000 metres from sea level.
The camp stretched over the area of 1,217 ropanis of land is said to look after security affairs, training and disaster management related activities.
Chief District Officer of Mustang Ganga Bahadur Chhetri said the camp was set up following the management of necessary land and infrastructure.
He said the setup of camp will increase security access in upper Mustang and also help manage natural disasters.
