NA passes two bills

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Today's National Assembly meeting has passed two bills unanimously. The meeting passed 'Policy Research Foundation Bill' and 'Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) First Amendment Bill', presented by Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada on the behalf of the Prime Minister.

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Today's National Assembly meeting has passed two bills unanimously. The meeting passed 'Policy Research Foundation Bill' and 'Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) First Amendment Bill', presented by Finance Minister Dr Yubraj Khatiwada on the behalf of the Prime Minister. 


Similarly, the meeting also decided to send Nepal Special Service Bill to Management Committee for clause-wise discussion.

Earlier, responding to the queries raised by lawmakers on Policy Research Foundation Bill, Minister Dr Khatiwada said that questions raised in the parliament could be addressed through amendment. He expressed the belief that the Foundation Bill would be useful to make the country's strategic relation, foreign policy and launch development works effectively. 


Meanwhile, 'Railway Bill' has been tabled in today's meeting. Minister Dr Khatiwada tabled the bill on the behalf of the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport. 


The next NA meeting has been scheduled for January 12.
