KATHMANDU, Jan 12: In a meeting of the National Assembly (NA) today, lawmakers demanded stern action against those responsible for the killing of one Dilip Kumar Mahato of Dhanusha.

Speaking in a special hour of the session, Dr Bimala Rai Poudel said only taking legal action against the perpetrator(s) would not be enough to sort out the issue, it must be ensured that such thing would never reoccur in the future. "Uncontrolled mining should be stopped."
Other lawmakers Komal Oli and Brishesh Chandra Lal aired their voices against the killing of Mahato for his move for environment and nature conservation. Seeking stern action against the perpetrator(s), they questioned the role of police administration in dealing with the case fairly.
