Makwanpur, March 5: The east-west highway has been closed demanding an investigation into the cause of death in the road accident and to take action against the guilty.
Krishna Prasad Sapkota, 50, of Chaughada -6, Hetaunda-6, died in an accident near Tirtiredhara on Saturday. The relatives of the deceased have closed the highway with the demand of an investigation saying that the accident is suspicious.

They stopped all vehicles in front of Makwanpur district police office from 12 noon. Even though it was called an accident, the deceased’s family members believe that someone may have hit him.
“As the police did not pay much attention to this incident, we were forced to close the highway,” a relative of the deceased said, “The truth of the incident should be brought out. We demand that the guilty be punished. This is our demand.” A large number of policemen are mobilized in front of the gate of the district police office.
On Saturday afternoon, Sapkota was killed in a motorcycle accident (NA 46 PA 2371), which was coming to Hetauda from Bhainse. He was injured and died during treatment at Hetauda Hospital. DSP Tek Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for Makwanpur District Police Office, said that the cause of the accident was not revealed. He added that the accident is being investigated.
