NA, APF men to guard Upper Tamakoshi project

DOLAKHA, Oct 14: Nepal Army (NA) and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel are likely to be deployed for the security of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project by mid-December.



According to Bimal Gurung, an engineer working for the 456-megawatt project, construction of camps for NA and APF personnel and other necessary physical infrastructures has almost been completed. Once the camps are constructed, security personnel from NA and APF will guard the project. [break]



“The army camp is now almost ready. The APF camp is also being constructed,” he said.



The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has already taken a decision to mobilize NA and APF personnel for the security of the project.



A team of 100 NA men and another team of 65 APF personnel will be posted at Gongar and Lamabagar in the project area. The NA has already been providing security at the Upper Karnali Hydropower project.
