The schools are divided into four pools and matches will be played on the knock-out format. Last year´s four semifinalists have been given seeds and automatic qualification to pre-quarterfinals, according to the organizing MYA.
Lineup includes defending champions Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, runners-up SOS, Bhaktapur English School, Rosebud School, Siddhartha Vanasthali, GEMS, St Xavier´s and Little Angles School.
“The winner will receive Rs 15,000, while the runners-up bag Rs 10,000,” MYA president and former national captain Upendra Man Singh said in press conference organized on Wednesday.
The best player of each match and the best player of the tournament will also be awarded.

On the occasion, president Singh inked the sponsorship and co-sponsorship deal with the TVS Tyres and Marigold Foods. Gautam Shrestha, the managing director of TVS Tyres, and Binaya Poudel, area sales manager of Marigold, signed the deal.
“We have a lot of supporters for the event organized to hone the skills of young players,” Singh said, adding that they were supported by Yeti Airlines, Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid Town, Pepsi, ATTSH and Adidas.
On the occasion, Rotary Club handed over tracksuits worth Rs 30,000 to the players of the MYA Football Academy. MYA is running the academy with the slogan “football for education” since two years with 30 players.
On the opening day, Gurukul Public School will compete with Manasulu Public School, while Mount View English School and Bhaktapur English School will battle it out in the second match.
