KATHMANDU, Sept 6: The Upendra Yadav-led Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Nepal (MPRF-N) has termed the agreement on 601-member Constituent Assembly (CA) between the Ashok Rai-led Federal Socialist Party (FSP) and the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) “impractical” and “unconstitutional”.

Speaking to Republica, senior leader of the party Bharat Bimal Yadav said, “HLPC and Ashok Rai-led FSP have agreed to increase the number of nominated members in CA to 26 from 10. This is not acceptable to us.” Earlier, HLPC and MPRF-N had agreed to limit the size of the CA at 585 members, including 10 nominated members. He said his party would not have any representation in HLPC until the agreement between HLPC and FDF is rectified. [break]

“The deal inked between HLPC and FSP today [Friday] has nullified our earlier agreement with HLPC,” said Yadav. Yadav also said that no representative from their party was present when the deal was struck between FSP and HLPC.

Meanwhile, MPRF-N has said there would be no electoral adjustment with the constituent parties of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).

Central Committee (CC) member of MPRF-N Arjun Thapa said there is no possibility of an electoral alliance between MPRF-N and UDMF.
