HLPC urges poll-opposing parties to call off strike

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: High Level Political Committee (HLPC) has urged the disgruntled parties to call off nationwide general strike.



At a meeting held at Bhojan Griha, Dillibazar, the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhesh-based parties have concluded that general strike is against democratic practices at a time when country is moving ahead for having Constituent Assembly elections. [break]



The meeting has decided to go for elections in a friendly and healthy manner. However, top brass of the major parties did not take part the meeting.
