MP Chaudhary demands his name be included in presidential election voter list

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: As many as five complaints have been registered within the deadline to do so regarding the voters’ list for the presidential election.


Assistant Election Officer Amrita Sharma informed Republica that complaints have been filed for the correction of four names and including one name in the voters’ list. The deadline to register complaints regarding the voters list expired at 12 noon today.

A request has been made to include the name of MP Arun Kumar Chaudhary elected from Kailali District Constituency-2 in the voter list. Similarly, the election officer's office said that four other applications are about correcting names in the voters list. It is said that no complaint has been registered against the claim of voter list.


After discussing the applications received, the election officer's office will publish the final list of voters for the presidential election at 12 noon on Friday. Members of the Federal Parliament and members of the provincial assemblies will be allowed to vote in the presidential election. It is said that the voting will be held on March 9 in the Parliament Building, New Baneshwar.
